My Wedding Day 06/04/2011

I'm trying to figure out a direction with my blog, I kind of just dove in and expected not to sink. But blogging is a lot harder than people may think. Definitely harder then I thought. I decided to make my blog about "the first years of marriage". It's something I know a lot about because I'm going into my 3rd here, shortly. I also will throw some fashion and beauty tips in along with some fitness tips. If you see something on my blog and you want to know how I did it, I can make a tutorials showing that also, upon request. So lets get started, My Wedding Day:

I was in such a rush to get married that at the time I didn't care about how much effort or thought went I to it. I kept saying I just want the marriage. Looking back I wish I would have experienced and enjoyed the wedding planning more than I did. I probably would have done more. But anyway, my wedding was very low budget. So instead of having the traditional wedding with a reception and dancing, I opted for a dessert bar instead. Our wedding was in the evening at 7 o'clock and afterwards we would have dessert instead of dinner and dancing.

I woke up the morning of my wedding and my best friend and I went and got our nails done. I hated that I had to wait practically ALL day to get married, I was excited and wanted to get it started. After I got my nails done, we came home and hung out for a (long) while. It finally got to be around 5 o'clock and that's when things started happening. :)

I gathered up my stuff and headed to the church. My hair stylist was going to get me all fancy there. Up until a half hour before the wedding, I was getting my hair done. Once that was finished, I was able to get my dress on. The best part!
I didn't wear shoes. I wore these toe beads.

My pastor came in and had me sign the marriage license. I wasn't nervous at all. Once he had left the room, it was about time for me to get ready to walk down the aisle. That's when I got super nervous and started sweating. I was ready to back out and run. I had to sit in front of a fan. This was the only way for me to cool off.

Then my aunt reminded me that technically I was already married on paper and that took the nerves right away. My bridesmaids had started walking and my flower girls, and now it was my turn. My dad and I started to walk the aisle and I couldn't help but awkwardly smile. We got a late start because my mom and mother in law forgot to do the unity sand and while they were doing that, the men were supposed to walk out. My pastor and Casey didn't walk out till the bridal party had already gone. Oops!

While we're saying our vows, I started getting really dizzy and I had to hold tight to Casey and tell my pastor to hurry up. We finally got to our kiss and walked back down the aisle.

We had to stand and say hi and hug every single person who was there!!! I hated that part!! I don't know why we had to do that.

Next came the picture escapade! After 500, you get tired of smiling. And since it wasn't a actual reception people were eating there dessert and leaving. I didn't even meet half of Casey's family. So we put the rest of the pictures on hold, yea there were more to be taken. We cut the cake, did toasts, and I threw my bouquet and Casey took my garter off. It was all very rushed and I don't even remember the half of it.

Once it was over and all the people left, I was ready to leave. We had a hotel room for the night because we were leaving to go to the sand dunes for our honeymoon the next morning. That's a whole different story, that you will hear about.

Chalkboards=love!!

Chalkboard are the coolest thing right now!! Casey and I decided to make our own!!

It was my idea, and I did the first two coats but then I got side tracked. He ended up finishing it. :) and it looks great! We just have to get some trim to go around it and it'll be completely done!!
Good job honey!!!

New hair!!

So I finally broke down and bought some new extensions. My old ones just wouldn't do because they were 1) black and my hair isn't black anymore and 2) not the best condition. They were tangled and mangled and not soft anymore. I got them at a super great price too!! My hair used to be this long naturally but I decided to bleach it like twice and dye it HOT pink. It was super cute but totally fried my hair.
This was my hair all pretty and healthy and natural. Then I did this:
Which turned into this gnarly mess:
Then I chopped it off to make it healthy:
Talk about being short! I loved this haircut for the longest time!! However, that time is sadly over. So I bought the extensions and did them myself. (Way cheaper)

There you have it. Young girls, do not do this to your hair!!

Healthy Eating and Getting Ripped

So the hubs and I are on a new life style plan. Eating healthy and working out. It's not the typical thing everyone does though. He is training to be able to do a 500 pound dead lift and he wants to be able to lift extremely heavy objects. His plan is to look like the Rock.
He wants to achieve that or bigger. Now obviously, I'm all for that. ;) but I love him just the way he is.
I, myself, don't want to look like that. I do want to be ripped though. So I'm working out every other day, unless I'm sore. This is what I'm working toward.
It's a long hard road, but I will be so worth it. Ill post before and after pictures later of both my husband and me.

My Bachelorette Party!! What a Blast!! =)

Some of my closest friends and I went out to celebrate my last night of being single. It was a complete surprise to me because my best friend and other bridesmaids had been planning it and I wasn't allowed to be clued in on it. =( Well, they sent me my invitation and they sent my mom a separate one with the nights agenda on the back of hers! We lived together so of course I saw it. It said we were going to Mongolian BBQ for dinner and then back to my friends house for games and presents! Oh La La! I got some lovely lingerie. <3 Then we went to club Necto, I was particularly excited about that part because I had never been and I was so ready to go!!
I am the one on the upper left =)

My M.O.H. Tiffany on the left and my really good friend Whitney on the right.

Me and my girl Brittany!! =)

SCREAM!!!

This was when we first got to the club, she snuck me a Long Island Ice Tea. I wasn't old enough to drink. I was only 18.

That was such a fun night!!

Anniversary ideas!!

My 2 year anniversary is coming up and I really want to go on a small get a way to a cute little bed and breakfast, but my husband doesn't want to spend the money like that. He doesn't want us to be broke. Which we wouldn't be...but anyway, does anyone have a good idea of what we can do that would still be special and romantic? I feel like he never wants to go anywhere. Now is the best time because since we live with his parents we don't have a house payment and all that, and we have sitters to watch the dogs. I grew up taking. Vacation every summer and now I haven't been on what since we has been married these last 2 years. I have to think of a way to get him on vacation. And I'm not planning fairly vacations either, they involve fishing and canoeing and fun guy stuff too.

Till next time :)

Ceramic adventure?? and Blog redue??

Hope your all staying dry, it has been raining all day here. Which is ok because our garden is loving the nourishment.

So because I was not accepted to the dental assistant program at Washtenaw, I have decided that I am going to take a pottery class. I have always wanted to learn how to do ceramics and I am excited to finally learn. Im hoping I can get good enough to sell my stuff on Etsy. =)

Does anyone have any suggestions on where a good place to take classes are in the Ann Arbor/Monroe area?? If so please leave a comment.

I also have decided that since I don't have the pressure of saving for school and all that, I can now enjoy my paychecks...sorta! I am going to save the most of it because I want to get a new car and save for a house. But let me tell you the real reason I am excited to not be attending school this fall. Now my husband and I can have a baby anytime we want. We were planning to wait 5 or 6 years, but now it can be anytime. of course, we would really like to have our own house first.

Also, I know that my blog is pretty scatter brained, so I am thinking of writing about myself so that you guys can get a better sense of my background and history. let me know what you think =)

Happy OFFICIAL Memorial!

Happy Memorial Day!!

Thank you to all the men and women who have served and are currently serving our country. May God bless you abundantly for putting your lives on the line. I personally have a few handfuls of military members in my family so today is a special day to me because they are all over the world fighting for our freedom and keeping us safe!

In celebration for memorial day we are having a big cookout!! I am so excited because I love food, especially BBQ. It was supposed to rain and be crappy today, but it turned out to be sunny with a breeze. =)

Have a safe and happy weekend everyone!!

Type A and Type B had a baby and it resulted in me

Ok, so I am a very planned person. I have lists for everything and I have everything very organized. This blog is about unsurely making my way through life (at least for now) and this is what I have learned. Not everything goes according to plan, unfortunately. Duh, right??! Anyway, this is my story starting when I was 17 about my plan for life.

So the story goes, I was 17 and doing really well in school. I got good grades and I worked my butt off in soccer everyday during practice. I wasn't planning on dating anyone because I was headed to Montana State University in the fall and it would be pointless to start a relationship that would turn into a long distance thing. Well something made me rethink that whole idea...definitely not my head. My PLAN was to go out west and study horses. I wanted to learn everything I could so that I could start a ranch. That is still a dream of mine to this day. Any who, this obviously didn't happen. I fell in love with my boyfriend and chose to go to a different school that was closer to home. After a semester of being away at school (I was closer but still 4 hours away from him), I decided to come home because I couldn't handle being away from him and it was putting strain on our relationship. I knew this was the man I had wanted to marry.

I came home from school in winter 2011 and started classes at the community college to work towards becoming a dental assistant. I ended up getting engaged and throwing school out the window to plan a wedding for that June.

June 4th, 2011, I wed the most amazing man I have ever met in my life. He makes me the person I have always wanted to be.

We went on our honeymoon and when we came home we moved in with his parents. =/ soooooo exciting, right?? But it was all good because we had purchased a remodel house on land contract. So when he wasn't working, we would spend our weekends ripping out walls and building new ones. In May 2012 we decided that the remodel house wasn't a good idea for us at the time. First year of marriage and taking on a remodel house?? That is a recipe for divorce and we were almost there! Don't do it!!

We ended up moving back in with his parents. We had moved into our house while working on it. Yet another bad idea!! Don't live in a construction zone!! we have been living in my in-laws place since June, it is now going into June 2013. Ugh!! This brings us to now. I currently just finished my medical terminology class at the community college so that I could finally get my dental assistant program started....2 years later. This was my plan for the next 5 years.

Finished Med Term class with at least a B  - check
Apply to WCC dental program - check
save $$ -
start dental program august 2013 -
continue $$ -
work through dental program -
complete program august 2014 -
apply for dental assistant jobs -
receive jobs within 3 months -
work for 9  months saving all money except tithe, gas, and bills,
buy a brand new ford explorer -
continue saving $$ -
work another year or so saving all money same as before to use for down payment on house -

This was my plan. I was going to work for probably five years as a DA then settle down and have babies. Well that plan got rained on, no, hailed on because I was not accepted into the dental program. I did not meet the minimum GPA requirement. No, I am not stupid. I just got distracted by a boy. This is why I say, " when your life is going good, BEWARE because it is about to get f'd up!!"

Wat will I do next?? Where do I go from here?

Introducing... *drum roll please*....ME!

So I totally know the post title was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist myself. I had to figure a way to break the ice and get your attention. Which may have been a bad idea because now I have to figure out a way to complete this blog entry and not sound like a robot or un-original. How am I supposed to tell you about who I am when its mostly full of "I am this or I am that." It sounds incredibly boring to me. I could go the other way and tell you a story that includes the main things about me, but then what would I talk about later. I am in quite a predicament.

Here is what you need to know about me before I start spilling my guts to a web of people I don't know: ( like how I used web there?? :D)

My name is Shelbie. I am currently 20 years old, soon to be the BIG 21. I am happily married (most days) to Casey. I have two wonderful fur-babies, pups by the name of Brutis and Sasha. And I work full time as a nanny.

Pretty exciting stuff, huh?? That's the stuff you want to know before you go any further. Guess I went with the boring ol' "I am" 's. Pretty original stuff I'm working with here. I may have already bored you to death at this point and you may be thinking this is going to be another sucky blog, BUT before you completely make up your mind let me ask you one question....

How exciting of a life can a married 20 year old have while living with the in-laws and keeps screwing up?

I drew you in!! Stay reading and your bound to have some laughs, cries, and seriously?! moments.
=)
