Weekend update!

Hello everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was a mix of good and bad. This weekend my husband and I got to relax! Saturday we did nothing but sit on the couch and watch Disney movies. Uneven made a quick dinner-Taco Salad. Yum!!

I make the best taco salad-I use Doritos!!
This was the highlight of my weekend, I love cuddle one on one time with my babe and we don't get it very often, unfortunately.

The bad part of my weekend was horribly tragic. One of our cats had a litter of kittens a few weeks ago and we brought them in the house because the mama was being a bad mommy. She wouldn't feed them or pee them or poop them. That meant we had to buy kitten formula and bottle feed them ourselves. Which sounds great and it is, but it gets tiring after awhile.

Anyway, we're dog sitting my sister in laws bitch. Literally. She is a boxer and I really can't stand her.

While we were at church, she decided to slaughter 3 of the poor kittens. Don't know how she got to them, but she did.

She got her ass beat. Luckily not by me or she wouldn't be here. We were hoping that her ass kicking would deter her from chasing or going after them or the other cats again, NOPE! Dumbass dog!! She snapped at one this morning while he was in my hands!

The worst part of all this is that she is my nieces dog, but 2 of my nieces want kittens. Not only can they definitely not have any cats now, there dog masa cured the ones my nieces wanted.

How we supposed to explain that to 3 children under 10??

So there was some heavy death in the air Sunday. It was extremely sad to think about what those poor kittens went through. :(

Hopefully my next post will be cheerful and lighthearted.

County Fair part 2

What a wonderful night at the fair!! I had more fun this time then I did the last!

We ate dinner before heading to the fair so we could save some extra cash. But if you ask me, this meal is better than any meal at the fair!

BLT with watermelon and corn. Mmmmm!

Tonight's fair festivities included feeding the animals and riding the FREAKOUT.

Ok, I definitely didn't feed the hyena!  He is creepy and cool all at the same time.

I love this little highlander cow. I will definitely be owning this someday. He was so cute!

Look at this little guy!! Just a haflinger foal. He is already huge!!

And some donkeys!

They would itch each others back from time to time, not long enough for me to snap a pic though.

And some cute piggies!!

This one below looks like our dog Sasha.

FREAKOUT time!! This is by far the best ride ever! Swings and spins!!

I don't know If any of you know or watch the tv show, Red Jackets but its an awesome show where they build big guns. And this is there truck!

And what would the fair be without some junk food??!!

One deep fried Milky Way for the Mr.

Loving my fried Oreos!!

And as always a pick of the two of us!

County Fair Part 1

O my gosh!! I had such a great time at the fair last night!! Corn dogs, funnel cakes and lemon shake ups- O MY!!

First thing we did was check out the animal barns. Lots of sheep, pigs, cows, and babies!!

The above cow is my favorite kind of cow!! I love jersey cows and I think it's because there so creamy looking!! Plus they are great milk cows and with me planning on owning my own farm someday-this is the best and prettiest milk cow.

There is also a "old McDonald's farm" where mommies and there babies gather.

Baby piglets are so adorable!

Every time I tried to take a picture of the lamb it would hide its face.

Looking at the animals apparently made us hungry because we were ready for our corn dogs!!

I don't even like hotdogs really, but something about the fairs corn dogs are just amazing!! And for $4 dollars a piece they better be!

There is always so much to do at the fair! Like sit in a tractor wheel, I can't begin to describe how big this tire was!

I'm 5"10 and I can fit comfortably.

We didn't really buy anything. Normally we load up on t-shirts and goodies, but we didn't want to spend our life's savings here this year.

We did stop at one vendor because a lady was selling handmade homemade organic vegan dog treats. These things were pretty cool because they look like human cookies.

I couldn't resist spoiling my babies.

A pink owl and cupcake for Sasha and a blue Dino and horse for Brutis.

See any resemblance??

A horse for a horse!! With the same colors and everything!

By this time I was so ready for sweets!!
Funnel cake here i come!!

Ate this all by myself! In love funnel cakes, but there was something new at the fair this year......

FRIED OREOS!!!!

Oreos are my favorite thing in the world! And now they are available fried!! Holy heart attack!

You can't tell me that don't look good. Mhmmmm!

Well that's us at the fair-day 1. We will be heading back tonight because a lovely friend of ours gave us free passes to get in!! Oh yea!!!

Couldn't help but throw one of us in there!

Stay tuned for part 2 coming soon to the blog near you!

New car!!

I know I just got a new car like a month ago. But I really didn't like it. It was stained and gross and worn down and icky, BUT I needed a car ASAP because my previous cars trans blew. I wasn't planning to get a new car; I was going to stick it out with the old one.

Then we went to Maybee to get Gatorade and I saw this beauty at the car lot. I thought it was adorable!!

I'm so excited to drive this and keep it forever!!! It's cute! It's clean! It's adorable! It's girls!

It's everything I wanted!!

I'm legal!! 21st birthday!!!

I'm sure your all wondering how my birthday went. Y'all are just so nosy.

I wasn't really looking forward to my birthday since once you pass a certain age there not fun anymore. My last birthday or 2 weren't the greatest. But this year was really good.

The day started out sucky because my car wouldn't start. So I was convinced it was all down hill from there.

However, it was the complete opposite. I got to work and my boss and her baby (who I nanny for) had made me a wonderful card, had the most delicious cupcake ever waiting for me and had the stereo blasting a happy birthday jingle.

That made my day, I was ready for the excitement of my birthday after all.
When I got off work, I went home to shower and get ready for my birthday BBQ that my mom was hosting for me.

I look pretty plain in this picture, but its because I'm not wearing eye shadow.

I requested BBQ chicken, potato salad, baked beans, and watermelon for dinner with a red velvet cake. (My favorite meal of all time!)

After dinner we relaxed outside for a little bit and enjoyed the company.
I also requested that my favorite at uncle of all time and his family be there.

He got me my first legal bud-light. It was sooo good and refreshing. I've had bud-light before and it was nasty and foamy. Must be my 21 year old taste buds must have came in. Ha! My uncle also got me this awesome present!!

We opened some more presents. I got some $$, a 31 bag, two pandora charms and some pink flops from Old Navy. Loved all of it!!!

I was so ready for cake by this point!!
My mom made me a homemade red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. Yum!!

You can't see her hand but she was trying to smash my face in it!!

I was ready to dig in!

So good!!

After the cake, we were all full and tired. We were ready for naps!!

I love my family!! :)

The hubs was excited to be able to share a beer with me too. Although he is bummed he lost his designated driver. Haha!

After the party was over Casey and I headed over to Applebee's for a couple more drinks. I had been wanting to try sangria for a while now and my 21st birthday seemed like the perfect time!!

It was hard to get used to but I drank it all. Casey said it tasted like kool-aid but I didn't think so.

I drank it all,but I wasn't in love with it. Honestly, I don't like alcohol. If I had a choice of having a drink and having water, I'd probably choose water.

One of the best parts of being legal is ordering your drink for the first time. I got the silliest and biggest smile on my face and probably looked like a complete idiot.

Overall I had fun. :)

Stranded at the Driven...

So I was stranded today. No, not at the drive in. More like on the highway...because I ran out of gas. Now before you go saying how stupid it was, let me tell you how well my gas gauge works.

When you put gas in my tank, no matter how small of an amount. It will spring up to full. If you are sitting at a stop sign for a millisecond, it will ding that its empty.

How's a girl to know when to full up??

Oh, by watching you mileage and calculating it out?? That's a good idea, if the odometer worked. Mine doesn't!

So I have to guess all the time!! Talk about nerve racking!

Add that to the list of things needing to be fixed.

Let me show you my view on things today.
This was in front of me. Getting on a different highway from the current one.

This was the traffic behind me. Thank God it came in waves.

Yes, that is a semi...here we go!

Bam!! Turbulence up the wazoo!!

They were all very aware if my presence because if they could they would get into a farther lane.

The only thing that has me guessing was when an "oversized load" truck passed me. Nothing beats driving a house down the highway!!

Thank The Lord above for my nana and grandpa coming to save me. They brought me some gas and jumped my car since the battery died on it.

Mistake or Right Choice???? Either way its gone now

I know my blog is about the first years of marriage and it may not seem like I'm really talking much about the marriage part. I have been focusing on the events that have happened in our marriage currently.

This post is going to be about our first house together and the adventures and conflicts it brought us as newlyweds.

My husband has always wanted a fixer upper house. He has this thing for taking a crappy house and making it totally awesome by himself. This house was just that. I was on board in the beginning and then jumped off that train faster than I jumped on. The only thing I loved about this house was the arch and the open space.

This was looking into the kitchen from the living room arch.
This is the dining room looking in from the laundry room.
This is the arch that made me love this house.
This is the laundry room (looking in from the outside)
This is the master bedroom. It was soo small!
 The upstairs..
 The bathroom.
 Upstairs bedroom, number one.
 Upstairs bedroom, number two.
The big spacious living room. Looking from the front door.
The living room looking in from the arch.

My husband was putting in a new window. He is so handy.
He said that we had to rip out the arch! =( I said he had better put it back!

My dad is the best painter in the world. If you ever need it, call him!!
We bought this amazing big bath tub from a habitat for humanity store. Brand new!
We were buying cabinets left and right!
New light fixtures and new doors.

The finished product of the kitchen/dining room. It looks amazing! My dad did the walls and my husband did the floors.

Now to start on the bathroom. We had to rip everything out and start from scratch.
Put in the new shower wall and tub.
 New window and plumbing.

Husband did all the electrical. He literally can do everything when it comes to a house. =) Thank God!
Putting in the floor so he can tile it.

 Started tiling.
 Grouted.
 Beautiful finished product.
 He tiled the shower too.
 My lovely arch.
 The living room.
This was our yard.

Ok, now for an explanation.  We were renting this house on terms of it becoming a land contract once it became livable. We ended up not being able to keep the house because we couldn't afford it, financially or emotionally. It was doing tolls on our marriage.

The first year of marriage is extremely hard, at least it was for us. I was 18 and I was barely in college and had no job. My husband was 22 and had a very unsteady job.

We ended up moving back in with my in-laws. Its a nice free ride, but I hate it! I would rather be broke and in our own house than here.

We put so much money into this house just to lose it. I still don't know if us getting this house was the right thing for us, but I sure do miss it. It was partly my fault because I was so fed up of living in an unfinished house, I made it harder to live there. I was always in a bad mood.

If I can be of any advice, don't buy a fixer upper when your 18 and newly married. It was horrible and great all at the same time.
